DR CLARE FRANCES MORAN
​
Clare Frances is lecturer in law at the University of Aberdeen. Her research interests lie in the related of international criminal law, international humanitarian law, and international human rights law, with a focus on the application of legal theory to these areas. Her current work focuses on a theory of authority in international criminal law, and is due to be published by Cambridge University Press in 2023. She has published widely on the concept of defences in international criminal law and responsibility for international crimes.
DR PATRYK I. LABUDA
Patryk is a Fellow at the University of Zürich. His research interests lie at the intersection of international law, human rights and peacekeeping, with a regional focus on Africa and the Middle East. He is currently working on the Protection of civilians and the use of non-lethal force by UN peacekeepers.
DR ERIN POBJIE
Dr Erin Pobjie is a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Law at the University of Essex, and a Senior Research Affiliate at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law. She is co-Deputy Director of the Human Rights Centre Clinic. Dr Pobjie researches in the field of public international law, with a focus on the use of force by States and new and emerging threats to international peace and security, including space security. Her forthcoming monograph is Prohibited Force: The Meaning of 'Use of Force' in International Law (Cambridge University Press, 2023). She is a member of the International Law Association’s Committee on the Use of Force: Military Assistance on Request.
DR SAEED BAGHERI
Saeed is Lecturer in International Law at the University of Reading School of Law, where he has also held a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship from 2019-2021. Prior to joining the University of Reading, he was a Max Weber Postdoctoral Fellow at the European University Institute (EUI) from 2017-2019. Saeed conducts research in the law on the use of force, international humanitarian law, and international human rights law, and teaches across a range of modules on the law programs. He has published extensively on jus ad bellum, jus in bello, peacebuilding and post-conflict justice, and international human rights law. He is the author of International Law and the War with Islamic State: Challenges for Jus ad Bellum and Jus in Bello (Oxford, Hart Publishing, 1st edition, 2021).
